Behaviours
Some behaviours should be adopted and others should be avoided (set out in each sector): do not smoke, do not eat, do not spit, etc.)
The use of the footbaths is compulsory, etc.
Hand washing :
When should you wash your hands?
- Before touching foodstuffs
- After handling raw products: fish, poultry, meat, vegetables, fruits, salads
- After going to the toilet
- After wiping your nose
- After taking gloves off
- After touching animals or waste products
How to wash your hands :
Several procedures are applied, depending on the risk zone. In some areas, sanitisation will be sufficient, but in other zones, a more complex procedure should be applied (e.g. surgery).
Here is the basic principle :
- Wet hands and forearms with hot water.
- Add at least 3-5ml of soap to the palm of the hand.
- Lather and rub both sides of the hands vigorously to above the wrist for 15-30 seconds, clean between the fingers and under the nails.
- Rinse in hot water until all soapy residue has been removed.
- Dry hands with a single-use paper towel.
