Even if it is dedicated to teaching and research, the pig herd is, above all, a breeding farm, with a specific sanitary status. It is submitted to legislation relative to the possession of pigs, which implies a strict respect of biosecurity rules.
As for an example, no pig can be introduced : it is not a hospitalisation area but a pig herd for selection, working in a closed circuit.
Visitors must be accompanied by a staff member. The visitor log must be filled in on that occasion.
