Exit procedures for animals and cadavers

The animal leaves the surgery unit for awakening:

its back being positioned towards the door leading to hospitalisation

A pillow is placed under the horse neck.

A rope is tied on the tail and another one at the head level.

People from the anaesthesia team remains behind the back of the horse.

Removing horses and dealing with cadavers is the same throughout the clinic.

Horses only leave the clinic after having received authorization from one of the assistants in charge of the case.

This part affects PATO staff.

In the event of euthanasia, horse cadavers must be taken as soon as possible to the B41 cold chamber using a stretcher.( ).

The cadaver will then be taken as soon as possible to the necropsy unit by using the Bobcat.
