Activities of the Infectious and Parasitic Diseases Department concern education and research. The Department includes the following sectors: Bacteriology, Epidemiology and Risk Analysis, Wildlife, Immunology, Mycology, Parasitology, Vaccinology and Virology. Biosecurity rules and procedures developed for the Department will only concern Bacteriology, Parasitology-Mycology and Virology.
Practical works held in the (DMI) allow the student, among others, to become familiar with techniques performed in a microbiological diagnostic laboratory. These practical works take place in Biosafety Level 2 laboratories (BSL2), in which specific biosafety procedures are implemented.
