Ruminants classified in Class 3 are animals infected (or suspected to be infected) by contagious pathogens: acute gastrointestinal disorders (e.g. diarrhoea), acute respiratory infections, BVD or bacteria resistant to multiple antimicrobial drugs.
The unit housing this type of cases is identified (isolation unit) and is subject to stricter biosecurity rules than for Class 1 and 2.
Class 3 animals (calves then adults) will be examined after Class 1 and 2 patients.
