Biosecurity regulations must be respected during organised visits to the stables in the CARE-FePEx in order to minimise the risk of introducing pathogens from outside, the transmission of pathogens between species (pigs and cows) and the risk of contaminating humans with zoonotic agents.
Several activities are organised at the CARE-FePEx : practical works, clinics and on-call duty.
The CARE-FePEx houses between 160 and 190 cattle heads. The animals used in the context of practical works by students are 30 meat and 50 dairy cows.
