Biosecurity SOP in the clinic of avian species, rodents, lagomorphs and new companion animals (CARL)

A major characteristic of the CARL sector is to bring together in a single place all clinical activities linked to birds, lagomorphs, rodents, reptiles, avifauna, or small indigenous wild mammals. In particular, clinical examinations, a large proportion of standard additional examinations with the exception of medical imaging, basic surgical operations and autopsies are conducted.

Animals suspected of suffering from highly pathogenic avian influenza or mesogenic or velogenic strains of Newcastle disease may not access the clinic premises. The advice of a clinician must be sought before any examination of an animal suspected of suffering from an infectious disease.
